Helping Families and Young People: Analytik Jena Supports Social Work in Jena

13.03.2017 | ニュース

Jena, March 13, 2017 — Analytik Jena is active in supporting organizations dedicated to social work and integration. Today Grit Petzholdt-Gühne, Chief Human Resources Officer at Analytik Jena, presented a check for 1000 euros to a local group dedicated to teaching German to children from other countries, Hilfe vor Ort, with another 1000 euros to be granted to the Kindersprachbrücke Jena association. Both donations are late Christmas gifts by Analytik Jena, granted to social institutions and projects rather than business partners.

Kindersprachbrücke Jena will apply part of the gift to its parent-child language course for multigenerational German-language learning, focusing in particular on enabling mothers to play an active role in their children’s primary school education. In addition to German, the course also provides an understanding of the educational system. It has already become quite popular in the Lobeda section of Jena, and this financial support will allow more families to take part in the future. The other part of the gift will be used to finance a group trip for all of the unaccompanied refugee minors living in the two shared housing units run by the organization since December 2015. The participants will be able to clear their heads and get to know the country better, while travelling with their friends.

The other Jena-based organization, Hilfe vor Ort (“Local Assistance”) will also be able to make good use of the support. The group’s social education workers provide support for needy families in bringing up their children. They provide outreach work in people’s daily lives, offer safe areas, and supervise housing projects for young adults.

“As a successful company, we sense an obligation in taking on social responsibility. It is necessary to support those who are committed to helping others. Social work can help to stabilize the lives of both individuals and families –to the ultimate benefit of society as a whole,” explained Chief Human Resources Officer at Analytik Jena, Grit Petzholdt-Gühne, on the driving force behind the company’s years of social commitment.
